Poem: Remembering
Moraya Ugwu • October 4, 2020
Trigger Warning: I wrote this as I was working on healing from being physically abused a couple of years ago.
Remembering is the most painful thing

How can you not remember something that left scars

How can you say let the past go, when it doesn’t seem to apply to you

Remembering is worse than these scars, because these scars fade away

But these memories are like a movie on replay

 Every single day
