As a mental health advocate herself who better to have featured on Mastering Progress than Bella Fletcher!

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your work?
My name is Bella and I am very passionate about mental health. I am a social work major at Simmons University hoping to study macro social work. What I really want to do it make a system where everyone can get access to not just mental health treatment but everything surrounding it like having home, going to programs, having food and water, etc.

What is your biggest passion in life and how do you incorporate this into your work?
Like I said before, my biggest passion is mental health. I try to promote mental health content on my social platforms. I have an instagram called: @bellafletcher7 where I talk about my own story and also post resources. On my main Instagram I post a lot more social justice things and other mental health resources. You can check my highlights if you ever need anything.

How do you take care of your mental and physical health?
I try exercise at least 3 times a week but also listen to my body when it wants a break. I read books because that takes my mind off of things for a bit. I also meditate which has helped a lot.

How do you keep yourself organized as a person who wears many hats in their life?
I have to write down on multiple papers on what I am doing. So I have my phone calendar, my week calendar, and then my month calendar. This helps me keep track of everything.

What are some things you think are important for people in their early twenty's to learn?
Take time for yourself! I never used to do that in highschool. I was always out in about which led to a lot of build up of emotions which led to not so fun aftermath. When I started going to therapy I learned you need to take time for yourself whether that mean saying no to a certain event or even incorporating something to yourself for 10 minutes a day. It helps a lot.

What do you define success and prosperity as in your life?
I don't like thinking success as an ending point because I always want to be doing something in my life. So I guess for me success is when I have reached one of my goals and it's time to make a new one!.

What characteristics/traits do you pride yourself the most for having?
I am a very loyal person which makes sense because I am a leo! If you are one of my friends or family I am very loyal and will always be there for you. I also am a very passionate person (another leo trait). When I am interested in something there is no stopping me on learning more about it.
